Dismantling conventional facilities

BRAUN concrete cutting and drilling machines

Since our concrete cutting and drilling machines are also used a lot in the dismantling of nuclear power plants, we have to focus on absolute robustness, creativity and efficiency, which is reflected in the durability, high performance, wide range of applications and low maintenance of our products. Back in the 1980s, our BWS20 was already used for nuclear power plant dismantling work. With a possible saw blade diameter of 2500 mm and a drive power of 44 kW, the BWS20 is still the most powerful wall saw on the market today.

At the end of the 1980s, we supplied a swiveling, automatic drilling system for dismantling work at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. At the beginning of the 1990s, we developed our first plunge saws, on the basis of which we introduced our combination system / modular system a short time later. This system’s modular design allows for a wide variety of combination and expansion options, as well as the ability to quickly replace defective components, saving time and maintenance costs.

At the end of the 1990s, we built our first wire saws. From 2004 to 2006, we developed the BRAUN high-frequency drive technology for wall saws and wire saws.

Thus, our concrete cutting and drilling machines laid the foundation for our current decommissioning technologies already decades ago. Our concrete cutting and drilling product range includes wall saws, drill rigs, wire saws, plunge saws, cooling and hydraulic units as well as special solutions. Due to this wide product range and the modular design as well as the possibility to add special constructions, we are able to respond specifically to different customer requirements and create tailor-made solutions. Furthermore, our modular system allows existing BRAUN machines to be expanded at low cost, for example, our wall saw can be converted to a wire saw or to our patented Wall Shaver.
